Soukup Construction is a regional excavation company that performs site preparation, utility work, and demolition throughout eastern South Dakota. We do a variety of earthwork activities including site preparation for small and large buildings; earthwork for highway and urban streets; demolition of buildings, pavements, houses and bridges; environmental cleanup; underground utilities and general hauling. We pride ourselves in partnering with owners and general contractors.
Company History:
Soukup Construction was founded in 1963 with a bulldozer and a pick-up truck. Carl & Marietta Soukup started the business in Scotland, SD, moved to Irene, and settled in Sioux Falls in 1973. Soukup Construction grew as a family business in the 1970’s and 80’s. Their son, Jim, was promoted to President in the 1990’s. Now in its sixth location, Soukup Construction moved to a state-of-the-art facility in 2016 with 100 employees and over 300 pieces of late model construction equipment.

At Soukup Construction, we are interested in hiring safety-minded employees. We continually strive to be one of the safest earth moving companies in the area. Each month we have employee-led safety meetings as well as weekly tool box talks. In addition, employees attend annual re-certification training for the various types of work that we perform.
